Kyra Minturn

Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress from the United States. Her starring role in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick got a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian, with English origin. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said she attends Passover seders.
