Krystal Marie Balm (born November 24 the 24th of November, 1980) is an American journalist and political commentator. She was previously a presidential candidate and a television host at MSNBC and a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post and former host of The Hill's Rising together with Saagar Enjeti. Enjeti and Ball made it clear that they would leave the show in May 2021 and launch Breaking Points, a new independent venture that will be hosted by Krystal as well as Saagar. Ball is co-hosting with Kyle Kulinski on the podcast Krystal Kyle & Friends. She has guest starred on programs such as Real Time with Bill Maher, Fox News (CNBC), Fox News (Fox News) and CNN (CNBC). Ball is currently engaged to Jonathan Dariyanani, as of 2020. Ball attributes her passion for politics to the reality that she became a mother in the 2008 presidential primaries and also was able to observe the US presidential election results while living in Jordan. She witnessed how it affected the people of that country and gained an appreciation for US politics' global impact. She was a Senior Fellow of the New Leaders Council. Ball was the Democratic Party nominee in Virginia's 1st Congressional District for Congress in 2010. She lost to Rob Wittman, who is the incumbent Republican. She was the host of The Cycle on MSNBC from June 2012 until July 2015. In May 2017, she launched the People's House Project, a political action group working on behalf of Democratic causes.
