Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the business to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she resigned from the company. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank until today. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February of 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 purchase to pay for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job throughout Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of free food from a local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father, who was a drunk at times too much and behaved towards her mother with disrespect and condescendingly, especially after he'd had several drinks. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to an Catholic primary school within her neighborhood and began high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. After failing several classes during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
